Il aura fallu quatre ans d'attente pour Gales of Atrocious Whispering, un album plus profond et mature. Si la production permettait autrefois aux guitares de nous griffer, ici elles grondent, elles rugissent. Pyriphlegethon cède parfois face à ses pulsions de haine ("The Defiling of Altars") mais il privilégie surtout une atmosphère ténébreuse avec un tempo plus lent. On se retrouve donc dans huit ans pour son prochain album qui aura en toute logique la même portée qu'une œuvre de Dødheimsgard !
